We have explored our options for suing the state to solve the highway sound pollution problem in Westport in particular, but have taken no action as yet, until we see the results of our efforts to work with the government to solve this problem. If possible, we wish to avoid an adversarial approach.

The state is not obligated to keep sound levels at 66 Db or below. However, there is evidence that persistent noise above 70 Db is harmful to hearing and general health, which could establish a cause of action if we do feel it would be appropriate to sue.
